Whether your favorite island is St. Barts or Anguilla, St. Lucia or Tobago, you should find some dreamy ideas for a sunny, relaxing vacation in a luxurious Caribbean resort.

At Les Residences on St. Barth's, villas have a stunning view of St. Martin and Anguilla to the north, and Statia, St. Kitts and Nevis to the south. You'll find seven swimming pools on the property. There are twenty 1 and 2-bedroom villas and one 3-bedroom luxury villa. Facilities are shared with the nearby Saint-Barth's Beach Hotel, which has villas with terraces facing the Caribbean. This is a very luxurious Caribbean hotel.
On St. Martin, whether you have come by boat or not, you will find the Simpson Bay Yacht Club and Marina to be elegant and convenient.  The resort has a shopping center, 3 swimming pools, and a 122-slip marina. It's on the Dutch side of Sint Maarten.   "

On St John, in the US Virgin Islands, is an exclusive resort founded by Laurance Rockefeller, called Caneel Bay Resort. It is truly elegant, but simple, a place where well-known world leaders go. The luxurious Caneel Bay  resort sits within the Virgin Islands National Park, and it's very much without any modern glitz. On St. Thomas, Frenchman's Reef & Marriott Morning Star Beach Resort is a favorite with people who value true luxury in their lifestyle. You can choose rooms with a view of the yachting harbor, or suites that look out over the island's hills and lush colorful gardens. What is the perfect Caribbean luxury resort for you? At the Palms Villa Resort in Tobago each villa has its own soaker pool and a private full size pool, and there is an upstairs verandah and a ground floor verandah for relaxing. The country of Trinidad and Tobago is the center of calypso and soca music, click here to sample some of this wonderful music before your trip to the Caribbean. Martinique: Le Cap Est Lagoon resort is a luxury Caribbean hotel that has fine Franco-Caribbean cuisine; it sits on an unspoiled blue lagoon, has wonderful sailing trips and big game fishing, and an infinity pool. The 50 suites have wide-screen plasma TVs; the executive suites have private plunge pools. The restaurant has superior continental and Creole cuisine.
The photo at the top of the page is of Ottley's Plantation on St. Kitt's, www.ottleys.com. John Simon wrote that it excels at  "evoking gracious plantation living through an incomparable combination of historic ambience and ultra-contemporary comfort". On Nevis, the Hermitage Plantation is full of history and antiques, and has some of the loveliest older buildings of any Caribbean luxury resort. Because it's 800' above sea level,  the temperatures mostly range between 75 degrees and 85 degrees Fahrenheit, day or night, all year.

In St. Lucia, the Jalousie Hilton Resort and Spa, www.thejalousieplantation.com,  has Scuba Diving, Spa, Golf, swimming pool, tennis, squash, basketball, racquetball,  snorkeling, and a children's club. St Lucia has striking mountain peaks called the Pitons, and many small beaches with a feeling of privacy.

The secret is getting out that Anguilla is right up there with St. Barts in terms of luxury and sophistication. The Cap Juluca resort on Anguilla was voted number 2 in all the Caribbean by the readers of Travel & Leisure in 2005. The villas have Moroccan touches,  Italian tile floors, and room service, and suites have their own plunge pool. It's an elegant resort , but a festive place, too.
The Biras Creek Resort, on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, is a Relais and Chateaux paradise that  sits between two hills on a 140 acre peninsula. It can only be reached by boat. The property is surrounded by three bodies of water; the views are indescribably lovely.
In the Cayman Islands, the Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa, on Grand Cayman, delivers true luxury, and is right across the road from an 18-hole golf course.
